The kids were lazy and when I joked about only putting up the top half they took me serious. We now have a tree just a bit taller then I am. But you know what? It's easy to walk around and we can still use the door instead of having it blocked for a month. I'm liking this small tree idea. More space for walking around, but the same amount of lights so it's really pretty.

Maybe you should find a different place to put it so it doesn´t block the door and then you can enjoy the whole tree.

The time will come when if you want a tree you will be the one to put it up as the kids will not be interested. Although when it came to the presents under it they had no problems.
I would like to say that if the tree is very tall us short people rarely enjoy the part much past our eye level. Lets be honest when it was all the way to the ceiling did you look at the top half much. Man your kids are smart! And kind of lazy, I helped them with the tree one year, I know how they are about it.
