Qatar is fine...just undefined strange cells

The doctor called saying everything was well, except that the mole showed undefined cells, not cancer just undefined.  We are to watch it for regrowth, otherwise the margins were clear of all the undefined cells so he is good and only a small scar to show the 'bullet hole' off.  He is on medication for his acne and looking forward to his next appointment.

Qatar and the bullet scar

Qatar went to the dermatologist for an acne appointment and while she was looking at this back and chest she found a mole she didn't like.  She kept coming back to it and thinking about removing it now or later and decided on now.  Qatar was a bit freaked out and shook a bit....but he did
fine and now has a bullet wound scar on his tummy....well once it heals that is.  We
are waiting to hear about the mole and expect it to be nothing.
The doctors really freak out when you say yes to the 'Skin Cancer in the Family' question especially if it is his Dad, Grandfather and Aunt.  The tri-fecta  of skin cancer maybe?

Working...working....working.....

I planned on cutting my working days to 10 a month...I worked more so far in January to make up for the time I would be gone to Eagle Bluff in February...well yesterday I was asked to assist a new teacher for a few weeks until her license come through for MN. She is from Texas and starts the 30th. Well there goes my cutting back. I did tell them I already committed to Eagle Bluff for three of the days so I won't qualify for the long term sub pay(190 a day instead of 108 a day..you have to work 10 days in a row and than they go back to day 4 paying you long term pay for the remainder.), oh well I would hate to miss Eagle Bluff with Ezekiel so that is a small price to pay.  Maybe after its over I will take the rest of the month off.

Spray Paint disaster

Qatar threw down a can of spray paint and it exploded, he was smart enough to get it to the garbage and then outside.  It took him awhile to get it off of everything.  He had quite a bit clean before I found the camera.  He will be more careful next time around.

The dishwasher with the paint, more on the counters and the sink, and the duct tape a favorite around here.

Funny stuff skip the ad

The dog hopped the fence and got stuck.  The owner of the house called the police.  He cut him out and the dog took off.  He wanted to find him and make sure he was ok and get him back where he belonged.  He looked and looked and then found him....

Enjoy the time.......I hate this......

When you are in the midst of things it is hard to enjoy them.  You are busy living the experience and only after do you really appreciate what you did.  Think about college...I had a great time...the time of my life when I look back at it....and yet would I want to go back to eating Ramen and pbj's on a regular basis?  Staying up all night cramming for a test?  Having roommates that don't care about my privacy or my clothes?  Well I wouldn't and yet I always look back fondly at that time.

I think that is what older mothers are talking about when they see you in a shop and tell a young mom to enjoy every moment because it will be over so soon.   Well for some of us not soon enough.  I look back at my baby years and I loved them, the coos and the right after a bath cuddles, nursing at 3 AM in a quiet still house.  I loved all those moments looking back, but when I really think about it ....I never would ever do it again....there is not enough money in the world for me to go back to those insane days of sleep deprivation and eating only cold food. No way......So please stop telling me to enjoy it...it is such a short time...thank heaven for that.   Any longer and any mother would take her own life.

Looking back at what we have done colors those events in a more pleasant color and tone....we forget the unpleasant aspects of what we did awhile ago.  Think about how when something happens that seems like a tragedy, that in a few years it becomes funny to remember..'tragedy plus time equals comedy'.

This summer David and the boys went to climb Mt Timp and I was cheering them on saying how much fun I had when I climbed and everyone should do it at least once.  Well the truth is...when I really look back....that I fell five feet on to a ledge and my knee swelled up like a soft-ball, the glacier made it possible for me to get down because it iced all of my bruises and made it possible to walk back down.  Once down my body swelled and I could hardly move for a week...not to mention my sunburned nose that peeled a week later.  It was a good experience looking back...but at the time it was anything but.

I believe that is what makes life possible to live...if we remembered all the bad times we would never do anything....including having that second child.  Just my thoughts.

The book and the movie The Help told readers that if you are
cutting onions hold a match stick in your teeth and you
won't cry.  I have now tried it three times and it has worked every time.
No more tears while chopping onions.  Yeah!!!

First World Problems

Today we were making chicken noodle soup and only had spaghetti noodles.
David asked about the egg noodles on the top shelf...
well I said 'OK, but I wasn't planning on eating those."
David, 'Why not?'
Me, 'I only bought them because I liked the packaging.'
Yes I don't only buy food to eat, I buy it for the packaging also.
Like this package, but in blue.  Really cute, but it is in the garbage now and they tasted pretty good.
Who knew you could have good flavor and cute packaging.

Gunnar is back to school

We dropped Gunnar off yesterday at the MSP airport, he is back to Provo and happy to be.  I find living without a schedule for too long difficult so I'm sure he's happy to be back to school.  Randy thanks for picking him up and dropping him off...I'm glad he is getting the hang of the bus and the light rail that will help on his mission.   He can do it, don't let him talk you into driving him further than necessary, I don't know about your kids...but mine are as lazy as I let them be.

We had a good visit and this summer will be fun....but with lots more rules.  JT went with us to pick him up and drop him off, he finishes school earlier than the rest and so he gets to go along.  I will hopefully post photos from Christmas soon. (He is wearing his new suit, its a bit big they didn't have his size. Long story)

Funny Stuff for the new year

I have been forced to conclude that the reason kids have so much energy is because they siphon it out of their parents like midget gasoline thieves.
