I have to remember I knew going back to school was the right idea. Some days I wonder if I got the wrong message and then I remember that no I got the right one.

Love Hate relationship with my math class

I hate the tests and all the study I have to do to pass the tests.  I love the way the teacher makes my brain work.  I think I can actually feel the rusty wheels turning as he tells us to come up with 2 + ways to solve every problem and then explain it on paper and to our partners.  The class whips by and all the the sudden we are getting kicked out of the building at 10PM.  WOW....hate this class and love this class at the same time.  Who Knew?

Cenneidigh

Cenneidigh was telling me that her math class is too loud for her to hear the teacher or to learn math.  I asked her what she was going to do about it?  "Maybe I will just have to flunk math this year."  I asked if that was really an option for her.  "No, I guess I will have to figure out something else."  I asked if I could help by calling the school or the teacher.  "No way Mom."

Well yesterday she told me this.  "I made an appointment with the Principal and he is going to come in and visit with the class and see if he can help with the problem.  He told me that the teacher is new and maybe just needs some support and help to get the kids settle down."  She is advocating for herself and that makes me extremely proud of her.  I just hope that math gets better or she will be mad when I call the school.

Well the principal did come in and she was mad because the class was perfect for him.  I told her that he should have expected that and will hopefully come in again and again to check and maybe even listen at the door.  She still wants me to do nothing.  We shall see how long I last doing nothing.

Major Let-Down - I have it~~

Well I have major Let-Down....in a good way.  After Dad told me yesterday Mom was coming home Saturday I developed a huge head-ache and was sure I was going to vomit.  I laid down and slept for an hour and still felt bad.  After another hour I felt better and yet I still felt slightly ill and my head felt like a rock was sitting on it pulling me down and making me really tired.  I still feel like that actually and think I need a vacation.  Too bad I have so much to do and no time to do it.

I hate feeling sick and I sure do today.  I hope to feel better soon and start sleeping again.  Letdown letdown and yet why?  I should feel great....I guess I need a nap.

Burger Sauce and coupons

Gunnar came home from work and told me that the burger sauce in the front counted in the Kraft Catalina coupon deal, so he bought 10 for 5.00 and got a coupon for 10 dollars off your next shopping trip.  Well we each did this a few times that night and took a 125 bottles of the stuff to the Salvation Army food shelf the next day.  The next day Gunnar, Qatar and Zeke cleared out the rest of the bottles on sale at the front of the store and came out with 100 bottles of Propel, 25 bottles of Gator Ade, 4 packs of Oreos, 4 packs of Sweet potato fries,  gallon of milk, case of water, lots of gum and mints, beef sticks, pizza, cookies, and some other items.  We have about another 60 bottles of the stuff and have given them to everyone we know.  I love getting free food.  The initial investment was 15 dollars, sometimes they used the whole thing and I wanted two going at a time.  I made a mistake once and only got 9 bottles giving me only a 5 dollar coupon.  I made my money back in milk and fries.  Good times....reminds me of cereal days.

Monster Moose and Parker

Cenny trimming Moose and he sat still for her with no problems.
Both exhausted from play and fighting all morning.
Feeling rested and at it again.  They play and wrestle.  It is funny and dangerous I've tripped a few times on both of them.  Moose jumps up and tugs on Parkers ears and neck.

Life is an adventure with these two -I feel like I'm driving horses when I have them both on leads with only me walking them.  Parker is a great walker, but Moose pulls.  We call him Monster Moose because his quietness is gone from the first few days we had him and he is trouble looking for a place to happen most of the time.  He's lucky he's cute!

Austin Artswork Festival was a success and we got our books signed.

Julie Kramer was one of the authors who came and spoke at the Austin Artswork Fest and we got our books signed.  She said lots of things about publishing and writing that made me think...of course no time to think right now.  Lots of other artist and writers were there all with a connection to Austin.  I never knew there was so much talent in this little town.

The Van is Back - Hopefully for a few more years.

I decided to get a second opinion on the vans transmission.  I drive by the Tranny Shop all the time and never really looked.  I noticed they fix, replace, and rebuilt all domestic tranny's so I called and took the van in.  They said it had a 1811 code which means transmission is toast....except in the case of GMC transmissions.  That code means that the sensor is over active and needs to be replaced.  318 dollars is what the sensor replacement cost and the van drove on the freeway and then on the road without any problems.  Yeah!!!!!!!!!  I have been praying and feeling like no answer and then I realized I look at the Tranny shop all the time and finally read the sign yesterday.....maybe I'm not listening....Huhhhhhhhh?

NERF Fire Vision - Buzzagent - the kids love it.

Cenny and JT with the new Nerf Fire Vision Football that just came in the mail.
I put the visor over the camera so you could get an idea of what it looks like to the person wearing the visor.

 The visor worn by JT...spooky!
Cenny with the red visor. See the ball is normal looking without the visor on.
The price of the ball with the two visors is about 19.99 in most stores.  I think this item would make a great birthday gift for a 6-19 year old.  Anyone who likes to toss the football around and now even in the dark.
We received this from Buzzagent free of charge for our opinion of this product.
Well the minute the box arrived the kids opened it and
put on the visors to see the ball glow(reflect).  When it got darker outside they wore the
visors and tossed the ball around.  They enjoyed it and made all of us come out and try it.  JT took it camping with a friend of his and they tossed it around in the dark and thought it was a great item to play with and in the dark they could see the ball but not many other people could.
This is a fun item for night play and day for that matter, but night play adds another dimension to the fun and the kids liked wearing the visors.  All their friends are jealous.
