Thursday started with Zeke begging to go to school, even with vomiting the day before. I got him there at noon(24 hours since the last upchuck, the rule) then off to return an item and pick up a few things I needed. Then to visit a friend and run an errand for them, that ran late so then to pick up the kids and off to Younkers to return Cenny's coat and look for another(instead we found some great candles), back to the friends to drop off the things they needed. To the chiropractor with the two youngest with me talking to the poor doctor about therapy(JT didn't get the difference between physical and emotional therapy. He thought I was going to tell the dr. all about my problems). During my therapy, Qatar called Cenny and she told him were we were and he walked over and came in for me to sign a form and write a check(at this point I wanted to just go home). Then we met Gunnar outside to take him to work. Off to drop of an item for Relief Society, and then home in time to make dinner and go to a concert. Thank heaven that the kids were tired and the concert wasn't their thing(we left at intermission) to bed at 10 and then up at 2am for puking JT. I'm looking forward to my vacation in a few weeks.

Crazy day!
Monday started with water on the basement floor and I still had no idea where it was coming from, but it looked soapy(my first clue after two plumbers telling me they had no idea where it was coming from) We had a softener installed and that showed the soap, so 1st clue maybe now I can figure it out. I got called to work so busy morning and then an Orthodontist appt for Zeke at 3, so off to pick him up on the other side of town. I dropped him off then stopped at home to pick up Gunnar and Qatar for the dentist(already had Cenny and JT in the car). So the dentist and then back to talk to the ortho about Zeke and pick him up for the dentist. Zeke needs braces ASAP(once one more loose tooth falls out) and we need to pay monthly or 1000 down and the balance next year when we plan out flex spending. Back to the dentist and while they are working on me I check my watch and get them to speed up a bit. After my appt we need to talk about the kids teeth, but I have to run Cenny and JT to piano and then come back to get Zeke. I get back, we talk and Qatar needs fillings, JT needs filling and I need three fillings replaced. I sign the Visa slip and sigh. Then home for homemade chicken soup I put in the crock pot before the work call(thank heaven for that.) A quick stop for the piano players and then home to drop. Later in the evening I turned on the washer and David and I camped out in the crawl space under the washer and waited for the spin. Sure enough water came spurting out of a pipe. Now I can call the plumber again and show him the problem. The puddle was in a space next to the crawl space, yet separated by tons of dirt and at lease ten feet of more dirt(that ground must be soaked through.)

Rochester trip
A pannakoeken reminded me of dutch babies( a egg pancake item) and so I need to make that for the kids again. They are the best with powered sugar and lemon. Yummy. I don't know if I can afford to keep Cenneidigh, she is eating more then the boys right now.
Side note: My paycheck this week, 1/2 to Gunnar for his Choir trip third payment(he says he'll pay me back.) We got Qatar's Mayo bill, so the rest to that(we are out of flex account money this year 2010). I want to stay home if all my money goes bye-bye the minute a make it. I now feel for David.

Sad moments
My grandfather passed away almost two years now and my neighbor Harlen passed last year this month. I have read a bit on death and what we fear most about it. Most research agrees that we don't fear leaving this earth as much as we fear the pain it will cause our loved ones and the fear we have of being forgotten. Who doesn't try to achieve greatness so always to be remembered? Leave a great legacy behind? But time marches on and even great structures named for those with the funds or genius, crumble and are replaced by others and renamed. Being forgotten is something that may happen to all of us, but those left behind who love us will keep our memory in their heart forever. Love is something that will outlast any building or park. Love for family and friends, the love we take with us and leave behind is the true legacy of our lives. I will never forget either of these men because of the love I have for them.

Macy's display - disappointed, it was the same as last year.
We have seen, Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Paddington Bear, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, one more I can't remember well and The Day in the Life of an Elf(now two times in a row.) It is a cute display, but I enjoy seeing the different stories, not the same one again. Gunnar didn't come last year, so it was new for him. This is his last trip(if everything goes well and he gets into college) we will miss him, but maybe if the display is different we can stop by on our way home from the airport next year.
While at Macy's we needed to get up a floor and had a hard time finding a way. Gunnar jumped on an elevator and we all followed only to find out when we hit floor two that we were on the express to the 12th floor. Oh well, we rode it back down and finally found the escalator up one floor.

Girls, Girls, Girls
By the way you don't want to Google 'girls' I got lots of interesting things even with the safe search on. Ok, Gunnar has had more girls over the last few weeks then ever before. Everytime I come home their seem to be girls in my house, in my kitchen, bringing things over and thank heaven he has a cell phone or they would be calling and believe me the phone rings off the wall anyway. Yesterday Selena brought over a box of Rice Krispies so Gunnar could make her his famous bars with the 2 jars of peanut butter instead of the two cups. He made them and then off to play practice they went with the other two girls who showed up a few minutes after Selena. I would like to think that after the play is over that this will stop, but the girls over yesterday are all in Austinaires with him, so I guess I need to get use to it.

Veterans Day
Cenneidigh is in the student counsel at Banfield this year and was very excited about helping with the Veterans Breakfast. Each year all the schools hold a breakfast for the veterans in town. Cenny had to be at school at 7 am to help set up and I had to work at the high school, so the logistics of car rides was interesting. She got there and after school she told me how interesting the stories were that the veteran told them. Later at Walmart buying groceries and things she told me more and then stopped. She opened her eyes wide and yelled(she never does anything quietly). "Harlen was a veteran, I remember. We need to get flowers mom." She ran back to the flowers and picked out a bunch. The problem was that it was after 6PM and it was dark. We got to the cemetery and got out the flashlights. JT swore he knew right were it was, but Cenny and I didn't follow him and we could not find the stone.(The last time we were out there it hadn't been placed yet.) JT walked right to a stone and called us over. It was Harlen's. Cenny laid the flowers and almost in unison we whispered. "We miss you Harlen." We got back in the car and drove home to make dinner. I told the kids my Dad and my Grandpa were also veterans. It was a hectic day, but the experience with Cenny and JT made my day.
