JT's Baptism

The men involved
The family

JT was baptized on the eleventh of April. We had friends and family attend. He decided on the program and I decided on the songs. Gunnar is a Priest now so he did the baptism and David did the confirmation. I guess the water was a bit cold, so David was glad to have Gunnar around. When JT was born, we all decided that Gunnar could baptism him when the time came, It's just hard to believe the time came so soon. We love you JT, keep up the good work.

Austinaire Show 2010

DISNEY DAZZLE
Fathoms Below, Little Mermaid.
Don't stop believing
Up on the Roof
Let's here it for the boys.
We enjoyed the Austinaire show this year, I haven't gone since Amanda was a senior. It was really fun, lots of upbeat music and a Disney ending(what could be better?) Gunnar did a great job and had several solos.

Being Lisa

That's me, flaws and all. Being Lisa is difficult sometimes. I love things that others laugh about and then I feel bad, but why? I love Barry Manilow, dark chocolate, making chocolate frosting and eating it right out of the bowl, cookie dough(raw eggs be damned), being alone now and then, laughing, being silly, white teeth(time to bleach them again), fleece anything(socks, blankets, pj's, sheets), country music, straight teeth(I wear two retainers every night and I see the dentist at least twice a year), zippy hoodies(any color), microwave meals(if I lived alone I would only mircowave food), hate the doctors office(I rarely go, I hate check-ups), sappy romance novels, feel good movies(I check reviews to be sure no one dies before I go), riding my bike especially alone(the wind in my hair and no hands), I never wear a helmet(bike), I always wear my seatbelt even if just backing up or moving the car a few feet, I don't make my kids wear helmets(bikes), but I do make them wear seatbelts, I'm dyslectic and always thought I was dumb and still do sometimes(I love to read and have compensated for the problem), I exercise almost daily and I enjoy it, I really do even if I'll never have a super model body, Crocs(need I say more?), I go to bed at 9pm every night(hard with teenagers sometimes), I get up at 5:30AM to workout or make lunch, I throw away most of the papers from school(who can keep them all), I want a nice yard, but I don't want to do the work so I realize I wont have a nice yard, I still miss Fred(my dog of 15 years), I loved living with my grandparents for a year, I will have a hard time sending my kids to BYU Idaho(Only the real BYU counts in my head), I love that people think I'm younger then I am(I may raise my age to keep that going), I don't want to live in Utah ever again, I love living so close to everything(we can walk to most things in town), I love staying home, but I like working also, I may have ADHD(I have a hard time staying on task, easily distracted), I've been to a therapist(thought I may have been crazy), I'm tired more then I should be(low iron and I hate iron pills), I want to be an author(three books so far, not good but written), I'm in the middle of a mid-life crisis, have been for several years now, I like toddlers better then babies, I could go on and on and on. Laugh if you will, but this is a small part of being Lisa.
So think about you and enjoy your uniqueness. Raise a glass to being YOU. Your the only one who can do it.

The hair cut

Cenneidigh cut off ten inches for Locks of Love and I forgot my camera. I took these when we got home. Her haircut is really cute, I told her it would be if Melanie shaved her head. Melanie makes everyone cute. Qatar got a trim so we could see his eyes.

Gunnar's costume for part of the Austinaire show

Gunnar came home the night before the show and informed me that what he had planned for Lumiere wasn't working. So the next morning to Walmart(they do not have much in the craft area anymore, very disappointing.) I ran into another sub and she laughed to see me not working also(I love my days off, I ended up working the afternoon.) So this is what I came up with. It isn't great, but he wears a tux with it and if I had had more time I could have come up with at least a vest to go with it. The first hat ended up looking like a firecracker, so this was much better. The gloves are candles, he needed to be able to use his hands so no cans decorated like candles.

Happiness

"The days are long, but the years are short."
"One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy myself." I've been thinking about the book and what I learned and I have to tell you that it's so important to be happy, not just for you but for everyone around you. Even if you are in a funk(I am often) it is important to fake it for you family. Act the way you want to feel and maybe you actually will. I loved the idea of a happiness project and will ponder that for awhile, but for now I will strive to be more conscious of things and act the way I want to feel even if I'm not feeling it at the time. Polly Anna had it right, look at the world as a wonderful place and it will be just that. It's easier to be negative and find fault, then it is to be positive and see good.
Be yourself even if it isn't exactly what you always thought yourself to be, you will be more at ease and happier. If you don't like something about yourself then change it, otherwise embrace your differences, idiosyncrasy, likes and dislikes and love them(who cares what other people think). They are what make you, YOU!!
The end of the book made me cry. "I might think on some dark, distant morning. How glad I'll be that I did everything within my power to appreciate the life I have now, just as it is." Who know what's coming, hopefully nothing but joy, but we should be prepared either way.
LOVE THE LIFE YOU HAVE TODAY.
